Dying Staplers
The staplers around Watzek - not just at the finishing table but at any desk that usually offers staplers - seem to be telling us that they do indeed have an expiration date, and that date is fast approaching. Could you look into replacing some of them?
Our staplers definitely have a very limited lifespan. Thanks for letting us know we need some replacements- we'll get right on it!

Student Snack Room
The drinking fountain has been clogged for 3 days; the paper towel roll has not been replaced for some time. In these conditions, it will be difficult for a norm of cleanliness to develop. A sink is what is really needed, though I understand that is a lot to ask for.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. A request has been submitted to clean/unclog the drinking fountain as soon as possible and to replenish paper towels in the Patron Lounge on a regular basis. Facilities Services will be contacted about the possibility of putting a sink in the Patron Lounge. Thank you again.

How do I get a library locker?
Library locker applications are available in Administrative Office 236. The lockers are assigned each semester using a priority system that is explained on the application. There is a $5.00 fee per semester. Please see Melissa in the Administrative office for more information.

Staplers in Watzek
Thank you for the fabulous new electric stapler at the check-out desk in the library! We have been in a sad stapler situation for a long time. I also appreciate the heavy duty staplers for thick stacks!

Too dark to read.
I love the new furniture but its too dark to read or work over there. Can we improve the lighting?
We are happy to hear that you like the new furniture! We have heard others say that the area with new furniture near the new books section is too dark and we had to agree. We've had new lighting installed in that area and hope that you will find it much improved. Thank you for your comment!

Weekends would be an awesome time to have reference librarians available.
A few years ago we stopped staffing the reference desk on Saturdays, although we still do staff the desk on Sunday afternoons. Do you think that enough students need help Saturdays to warrant staffing the desk? If there is enough demand, we would certainly do it.

Warmer?
It's always too cold in the library. It seems like the AC is always on, even in the middle of winter. It's uncomfortable to sit anywhere near a vent for an extended period of time.
Thank you for your comment. Watzek's temperature is controlled electronically from a different building, but we would be happy to pass along your concerns. It would be helpful if you could let us know the specific locations that are always cold so we can ask that adjustments be made in that area. Thank you! 3/2/10

Staplers
(a) We need staplers. (b) Would it be possible to have some better, industrial quality staplers provided at the Project Finishing Station - maybe an electrically powered one that goes through thick stacks of paper? The ones currently provided are often stuck or out of staples.
A non-electric heavy duty stapler has been added to the Project Finishing Station. Staplers in the Library get a great deal of use and it is very difficult to keep them in working order. When staplers are in need of attention, please notify someone at the Circulation Desk. Thank you for your comment!
